Medicare Home Health Billing Series, Part 1 - PDGM - Webinar Series - Part 1 of 2

PDGM brings many changes to the Billing process, including almost doubling the volume of claims as compared to 2019 that will be sent and multiple changes to the data on the claims. The billing volume for 75% of the current Medicare episodes is likely going to DOUBLE under PDGM. With RAPs and Finals being required every 30 days instead of 60, agencies may need to expand their Revenue Cycle teams. This webinar will cover details regarding the actual billing changes that will need to occur under PDGM. This webinar will take you through details of billing under PDGM and will review the process that the Medicare MAC will go through to calculate the HIPPS code and pay the claims. Lastly, this webinar will cover the proposed changes from a RAP to NOA for 2021. There will also be a discussion of the overall impact on the revenue cycle under PDGM.

Medicare Home Health Billing Series, Part 2 – MEDICARE ADVANTAGE

Medicare Advantage Plans may or may not have changes in 2020 in regard to PDGM. Medicare Advantage Plans that pay agencies episodically will eventually convert to RAPs and Finals being required every 30 days instead of 60.  This webinar will cover details regarding the actual billing changes that will need to occur under PDGM. This webinar will discuss the ins and outs of dealing with Medicare Advantage plans, including authorizations, codes for claims and dealing with intermediaries when trying to get paid by Medicare Advantage Plans.

  • Detail the specifics of successfully collecting under the Medicare Advantage program.

Review the process from Intake through to billing for successful Medicare Advantage billing and collections.

PRESENTER

Melinda A. Gaboury, with more than 27 years in home care, has over 17 years of executive speaking and educating experience, including extensive day to day interaction with home care and hospice professionals. She routinely conducts Home Care and Hospice Reimbursement Workshops and speaks at state association meetings throughout the country. Melinda has profound experience in Medicare PPS training, billing, collections, case-mix calculations, chart reviews and due diligence. ZPIC, RA, ADR & TPE appeals with all Medicare MACs have become the forefront of Melinda’s current impact on the industry. She is currently serving on the NAHC/HHFMA Advisory Board as ex-officio and is Associate Director on the Home Care Association of Florida Board of Directors. Melinda is also the author of the Home Health OASIS Guide to OASIS-D.

WEBINAR RECORDING

You will be sent the recording link following the presentation and it will be available for 2 weeks following the webinar. The webinar format allows a concise and low-cost format plus the additional bonus of having access to the materials for 2 weeks and provides additional flexibility to ensure everyone from your agency has an opportunity to access the information.

CONTINUING EDUCATION

Minnesota HomeCare Association is approved as a provider of Continuing Education Credits by the Minnesota State Board of Nursing. Each course offering is approved independently for 1.5 contact hours. It is the responsibility of the participant to assure that this program meets the licensing and continuing education requirements and to retain the required documents in his/her personal file. Attendees must participate in the entire presentation in order for contact hours to be awarded – partial credit will not be available.  To apply for nursing contact hours, within one week following webinar participation, a completed sign-in sheet and evaluations from each individual must be returned to MHCA.  Certificates will then be issued by e-mail. 

EDUCATION PAYMENT POLICY

Registrations may not be shared between agencies – the agency’s registration covers the access of only one phone line/computer access to the webinar. Multiple site participation for your agency will require a separate registration fee for each connection. Please note: if your agency has sent in 1 registration but 3 people from your agency register through the Zoom link, your agency will be invoiced for the additional 2 registrations. The handouts will be emailed to you to the email address you provide. Please feel free to provide an additional email address as a backup.

CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations must be in writing and received by MHCA on or before Wednesday, February 12, 2020 to receive a refund less a $25 cancellation fee (per registration). No refunds for cancellations made after the cancellation deadline or for no-shows.

Handouts and related materials will be sent to you shortly before the program to the email address you provide.
